American Kinder (Gunma-ken)

Japan With Kids - Forums: Education in Japan: International Schools in Japan: American Kinder (Gunma-ken)
By Ted Myers on Monday, April 10, 2006 - 10:43 pm:

We are an international family living in Gunma. Our son is attending American Kinder, a bilingual preschool in Takasaki. The school has been in operation since 1989. There are three classes, for ages 3-4, 4-5, and 5-6. Each class has two teachers: a native English speaker and a bilingual Japanese teacher. All teachers have extensive kindergarten teaching experience.

The school also provides daily Kodaly method music classes, as well as weekly "cultural classes" in Japanese dance, ballroom dancing, modern dance, taiko drumming, art, and swimming. See http://www.englishacademy.jp/ak_en.htm.

We are very satisfied with the education our son is receiving there and hope that other families in Gunma or northern Saitama can come and check it out for themselves.
