Does anyone know of any good quality music and movement groups in the Shibuya area? My son is 11 months old and we had so much fun together at our group in the UK. We have only been in Tokyo for 4 wks, but are really desperate to get started again. All suggestions are welcome! Thanks

There are groups in my area (Musashino-shi) that organize music and movement classes for toddlers. The classes are in Japanese and anyone is free to join. I suggest you inquire at kids playgounds in Shibuya, which is where ads are usually posted for these kinds of activities.

Because of the great response we were able to offer TWO Music Together classes on Wednesday mornings in Jiyugaoka. Our first semester is coming to a close and we and are gearing up for our Summer Session. In addition to the Wednesday 10:00 and 11:00 classes we are hoping to open up a class Tuesday afternoons at 2:15. Our Summer Session is 7 weeks with classes meeting once a week for 45 minutes. Classes begin in Jiyugaoka Wednesday July 27th (Tuesday July 26th if there is enough demand).

I have recently opened a learning center, Kids Apple Orchard, for children ages six months to four years and their parents. My classes last 45 to 60 minutes and feature creatively-designed activities that encourage the active co-participation of parent and child. All classes are taught in English, and all nationalities and backgrounds are welcome to join. Kids will enjoy music, puppets, stories, bubbles, arts & crafts and using our playroom. Parents will have the opportunity to meet other parents of young children.

About me: I have taught "Mommy and Me" classes in California. In addition, I founded and ran a support group for mothers. I am also the mother of an infant and a toddler.
