Swap meeting

Japan With Kids - Forums: Second Hand/Recycle/Flea Markets: Swap meeting

I know the last posting on this thread is years ago but i was wondering if this 'swap meeting' is still ongoing?

I went to the swap meeting posted below, and it was quite enjoyable. There was white and red cask wine from Australia and ice water included in the price. There were lots of Mums and babies, but also some people without kids. And there was a lot of stuff spread out to be swapped from crockery, adult clothes, some books, and of course stuff for kids. I came with 2 half loaded bags and ended up leaving with 2 stuffed bags, even though I had promised myself to leave with less than I came!

The lady who organizes the once per season swap meets, Ushka, also does a Mama & Kids Workshop on Wednesdays. Once a month it's an English lesson, but the other Wednesdays it's either cooking or seasonal (like carving a pumpkin) or a tea party. See http://www.ushka.net/cooking/cookinginenglish.html Actually the Wednesday events are held at http://www.lunaluna.jp (Look here for details - it's a bilingual site).

After, I helped pack boxes with all the items that were left, to be picked up by Oxfam or Salvation Army later. So it's not a one on one swap system. You just go in, unload your stuff, and then pack new used goodies into your bags!

There will be a Swap Meeting at Little Ones Cafe in Yoyogi Sunday 2nd October 2-4pm
Admission is 500yen, this includes wine and entry to prize draws.

Please bring any unwanted items from your home and you are welcome to take home any treasures you find at the swap meeting for free. A nice chance to do some Autumn cleaning in your home. You are welcome to join even if you have nothing to give away and everyone can take home as much as they want/can carry. Anything left will be sent to charity.

Little Ones Cafe map is here, the most child friendly cafe in Tokyo!
