Japanese banks that you can withdraw from in the UK

Japan With Kids - Forums: Suggest a Main Topic: Japanese banks that you can withdraw from in the UK

Hi,
Does anyone know of a Japanese bank that you can withdraw cash from in the UK with an ATM card?
Any help/advice would be great.
Cheers

You can definitely use ATM cards issued by Japanese branches of Citibank in the UK, but I don't know about actual Japanese banks. My Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi card certainly doesn't have any of the logos on it for the international ATM networks (Cirrhus etc), but it's possible that if you ask your bank they might do separate cards (no doubt for an extra fee) that are useable abroad. It could also be worth trying the post office - their machines are now linked to the international network, so there's a fair chance that it's a reciprocal arrangement.
