Steve's Corner Store
By Meriko on Monday, February 16, 2004 - 11:38 am:Hi, have you guys heard of Steve's corner Store? It's a new online store I found that sells American stuff to residents of Japan. It's at http://www.stevescornerstore.com. They have all sorts of snacks, deodorants, and even underwear!
By Ushka Wakelin on Monday, February 16, 2004 - 12:00 pm: What a great site! I am going to place an order there today, thanks so much for letting me know about it.
By Vicki on Monday, February 16, 2004 - 12:22 pm:There's more of a selection here: http://www.expatexpress.com/
By Scott Hancock on Monday, February 16, 2004 - 1:48 pm:And the original of these is: http://www.fbcusa.com Foreign Buyers Club
By Meriko on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 - 1:21 pm: Well, with FBCUSA, you have to order most items by the case. Who needs a whole case of toothpaste? And Expat Express has a minimum order, plus they seem very impersonal.
By Scott Hancock on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 - 1:55 pm:Not everything is by the case at FBC. Bit confusing with the two "stores", but it's there. Also, they now have www.fbcexpress.com for small quantities & fast delivery. Haven't studied it, but must be more expensive.
By Vicki on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 - 2:42 pm: Expat Express impersonal? While it's true that they are located overseas and can't come around for a cup of tea, I have been extremely pleased to find freebies thrown in with my order (which arrives within 5 days!). I am not affiliated with them in any way, but have been ordering from them for years and am quite happy.
By Scott Hancock on Sunday, October 3, 2004 - 9:36 pm: I tried looking at the above mentioned, stevescornerstore.com and it's "not found". Does anyone else see it?
By Lea Watson on Monday, October 4, 2004 - 5:35 am: I just got the same message. It could be a server problem. I know that my own store has disappeared on occasion when the host crashed and once when I was switching to a new one. I'd suggest giving it a day or two and then try again. By Jellund on Monday, October 4, 2004 - 12:37 pm: I went to the site about a month ago and couldn't connect to it either. At the time I just assumed it was a server problem but maybe it has closed? Has anyone ordered from there recently?
