Does anybody know where I can find fun pinatas for a birthday party?

I didn't know either so I made my own with strips of paper painted sloppily with regular paste as I wrapped the strips around a balloon. (a blow up beach ball is good for bigger ones). Don't forget to leave a hole to get the deflated ball out). If lots of children wish to do this at the same time you need to tie a string around the neck of the balloon and hang it from a broomstick that stradles two tables to dry. This is also handy if you wish to paint them once dry (less mess).

Does anyone know where in Tokyo to buy ice for a party ? We need several big bags of party ice like you can buy in service stations in Australia to keep the drinks cold. Somewhere near to Shibuya preferably !

I've bought bags of ice at the local supermarket. Usually there is a small freezer near the front of the store near the check out counters.

Natalie, The local Summit supermarket did have bags of ice, I bought 10 of them and had a great party ! Thanks for the advice.

Bags of "rock" ice are always available at your local convenience store which are usually open 24/7.

Where can I find decent Christmas decorations in Tokyo for a party. I need tablecloths, themed paper plates, napkins, etc. Tried Daiso Hyaku En Shop in Harajuku, but there was very little selection.

I was at Tokyu Hands in Shinjuku today and they had a fairly good selection on both the 2nd floor (main entrance from Times Square) and also on the floor that has the games. I believe it is 7. There is also a packaging store near my house in Hatagaya on Koshu Kaido at Nakano dori. They always have a large selection of party supplies. I'm going there tomorrow myself. If you are interested I will tell you what they have.

Thanks Edlyn. I'll check Tokyu Hands again. Was there last Saturday and it was too crowded to navigate with a stroller in tow. Maybe today will be better. I'll check out the 7th floor.

You could try out the area next to Asakusabashi station on Sobu line. There are shops full of X'mas deco and trees and such supplies. You might want to try Shimojima shop in the area or toys-r-us any place in Tokyo.
