Disposable diapers
By Lea Katrina Lombos on Thursday, October 13, 2005 - 5:16 pm: hello! i am a 29 year old Filipina mom of 2 boys. i will be going to japan next year to visit my husband who is working there now (Yokohama). so i am trying to prepare myself of scenarios for when we go there. my 4 year old son is potty trained already but my 2 year old is still quite dependent on his nappies. i would like to find out the relative cost of diapers there and the different brands just so i'll have an idea and know how to budget. i would appreciate any help you could give me. thanks soooo much! lea

Japanese brands for 12-17 kg baby are about 1000 yen for 36 diapers (actually pull-up pants). Pampers are about 1200 yen for the same. Smaller sizes are the same price, but more diapers (40-50). You can buy diapers at many drugstores and variety stores. We found Japanese brands to be fine after moving from the US.
