I am hoping someone here will be able to provide me with some information about amniocentesis in Japan. I have seen in an older thread that Dr. Sakamoto performs them, but I can't find out much else. Does anyone know any details about the cost of the procedure in Japan, either performed by him or someone else? I would be very interested to hear any recommendations for specific doctors, and any input about how the procedure might differ here from elsewhere. For example, I have heard rumors that it takes an unusually long time to receive test results, and that doctors won't inform patients about sex determination--but I don't know if these things are true, or if there might be other differences in the process or in what is tested.
