By Franklin Lore on Monday, January 17, 2005 - 10:44 am:Hello, Just to start off, I'm really happy to find such a comprehensive site with so many helpful members. This is my first post, so please go easy. ;) I just had a daughter a little over a month premature, in late December. She's doing wonderfully and in perfect health so far, so I'm relieved and very happy. There is only one minor issue I'm curious about: One of her ears seems to be squished or folded over. It's not as bad as a Stahls ear, but I'm a little concerned. I've researched that, if done immediately after birth, an ear mold or cast can be worn to correct the physical appearance. According to my research, if the mold is not applied within 7 days after birth, she will have to wait until she's 3 or 4 for cosmetic surgery. That is if we decide to have it 'corrected' at all. Again, she is beautiful, but I would like both ears to match. My Question: Does anyone know a good cosmetic surgeon specializing in children I could speak with? I would like to at least just discuss our options. They don't have to speak English as my wife is Japanese. My research material: http://www.kidsplastsurg.com/earmolds.html Thank you in advance. Alternatively, you could look at the members of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery(link below)and perhaps find a specialist in Japan. I have also pasted another link listing plastic surgeons in Japan (there might be some duplication on these lists)Good Luck. Keep us posted. http://www.plasticsurgeryworld.com/surgeons/ http://www.isaps.org/members.asp?IdCountry=25
