Hi,

I am currently 12 weeks pregnant, and am worried that when the baby comes I will have no other new mums to talk to.

I know there is a foreign women`s pregnancy group, but they meet on a Tuesday, when I am currently working.

Any ideas?

If you are considering breasfeeding, the very best way to meet expectant and new mothers is to go to a La leche League Meeting. They have a group in Shibuya. Good Luck!

You could try contacting one of the childbirth education services here in Tokyo. I believe CEC has a new Moms group. Check for the number under the chilbirth ed. discussion here in TWK, or phone TELL for the number. BEST is the other service that caters specifically to foreign women having babies.

In may this year (2003) we will do a comparing study between Sweden and Japan on pregnancy, birth and post-birth care for children. we would like to come in contact with pediatrics, child-doctors, hospital, women who are going to have a baby or recentrly have got one.

I have noticed that while there are a lot of mums and mums-to-be out there, all the groups are based in and around Tokyo.I am currently 5 months pregnant and live too far out to make it to most of these meetings. Is there anyone else in the Saitama/Kawagoe area who is in the same position and would like to meet up from time to time?

There are 3 to 6 of us mothers with (multi-racial)kids who meet each other for about 3~4 times a month. We usually meet near Kamifukouka Station , Saitama(2 stations away from Kawagoe). Although sometimes one or two pregnant friends join us, most of us have children 0~3 yrs. old. If you want to join us now , or after you've given birth, we'd be very glad to 'chat and have fun with you.'

Help, is there anyone who can give advice about a good hosp.and female dr. who speaks english, for having a baby for the first time, in chiba-ken, anywhere near ichikawa-shi? please advise. and if any moms can give advice about la leche league groups/support, or other moms/preg.support groups?thank you so much.

I noticed all the messages on this board are really old so I thought I would start a new one for 2006!

I`m pregnant (29 weeks-HUGE!), and I know there must be plenty of people out there who are also pregnant and bored, or with young children and bored, so if anyone is interested in arranging informal coffee dates or lunch dates, lets get something going! I have a 2 year old as well, so anyone with kids who also wants to hook up is welcome!

I am married to a Japanese and live a Japanese life here - I don`t often get to meet English-speakers and I`m depserate to find someone who understands my sense of humour!!!

Hello..I am Mum to a 6 month old boy. Would love to meet up with other Mum's and babies in my area. I live in Tanashi so anywhere around ther would be great (Tokorozawa, Takadanobaba etc). I speak very little japanese sorry!!!
