Hair Loss and Greying

Japan With Kids - Forums: Health Topics: Hair Loss and Greying
By rach on Saturday, June 29, 2002 - 9:48 pm:

Hello,
I and my husband are experiencing excess hair loss especially after our arrival here. Is it because of the water?
Now we shampoo just once a week but that too is not helping.
Can anyone suggest locally available good hair tonic/shampoos for women and men to promote hair growth and reduce hair fall.
Thanks, Rachel

Wow! That's terrible!

I've never heard that the water here is hazardous to your hair.

The stress of this great big concrete city is perhaps playing a big role.

Or maybe you're seeing more hair caught in the drain since Japanese drains are usually better equipped to prevent hair from going down the drain and clogging it. Could it be your new plumbing is just letting you see more of the hair?

I'm not sure of any specific products but I know that they're out there because I'm bombarded with ads for them everywhere I go.
Good luck! Karen

I see Rogain (for stopping or reversing baldness) for sale over-the-counter at PaPaTsu (a drugstore chain with more stores opening constantly). Here's what the store's sign looks like:
