By Miki25 on Saturday, March 22, 2008 - 5:50 pm:Can anyone recommend an English-speaking doctor who deals with pollen allergies? Anywhere around Shibuya/Aoyama/Omotesando areas is fine. Even if they're outside that area, if the doctor is good, I'm willing to go there. Thanks!
By Kurz on Thursday, March 27, 2008 - 11:35 am:Dear Miki, Hard question to answer! Is this for you or a child? Look here: http://www.aaoaf.org/patients/allergy_qa.asp "17. If I have an allergy, should I be treated by an Allergist? Because allergies can produce such a wide range of symptoms, there are a number of doctors, both specialtists and general practitioners, in addition to allergists, who may be qualified to treat the allergic patient. For example, a skin allergy can be effectively treated by a dermatologist (a doctor who specialize in treating skin diseases) and an infantile cow's milk allergy may be treated by the child's own pediatrician. An internist who is concerned with lung disease may also be involved with allergies that affect the lungs. An allergist may be any physician trained in the diagnosis and treatment of allergies. There are general allergists who treat allergies throughout the body and specialty allergists, such as otolaryngologists (ear, nose and throat specialists), who specialize in a specific part of the body."

By Radiojen on Thursday, March 27, 2008 - 12:02 pm:I am also interested in finding a doctor quickly. In the US I was told by my allergist I was allergic to "everything." I was constantly popping allergy pills, and it was under control for a long time. Fortunately I never had to go the route of allergy shots. But thanks to some therapeutic grade essential oils, I was able to get off the pills and never really had any allergy problems after that (for several years) ... until now. I'm not sneezing. No watery eyes. None of that. But I can't seem to breathe very well. I think it's a reaction possibly to the pollen. I realize this may not be an allergy/asthma thing, but something entirely different. However, I'd like to start with an allergist to rule that out before I go somewhere else.
By Dannyjiavitz on Saturday, April 12, 2008 - 1:48 am:for childen the doctors in pediatrics are very well regarded at Showa Univ in Takano Dai. Until his death a few years ago, Dr. Iikura was a well known specilist in Childhood asthma. but also many other good doctors there who worked under him.
