Cathy,

There are numerous vegetarian
restaurants that provide vegan
dishes, but you have to be quite
careful about the ingredients.

Some good sources are:
www.vegietokyo.com
www.bento.com/r-veg.asp

The most reliably vegan that I
know of are the macrobiotic
restaurants Kushi Garden in
Takebashi on the Jinbocho side
of the freeway and the Kushi
Garden Cafeteria in the Mainichi
Shimbun building above Takebashi
Station (both of these are
listed on the Bento.com page).

For fantastic yet usually
somewhat pricey meals try some
of the Shojin Ryori and Fucha
Ryori (Bon in Iriya) buddhist
style restaurants.

Good luck! If you find a
restaurant you like, please
post.

Steve
