By Chieko Nishimura on Saturday, June 21, 2003 - 12:00 am: Does anyone know a mexican restaurant offerring a real/good mexican food?
By Jennifer Earnshaw on Saturday, June 21, 2003 - 4:12 pm:For quite authentic Mexican food, not Tex-Mex, we go to Fonda de la Madrugada. They have some nice simple dishes that are quite authentic. The atmosphere cannot be beat in Tokyo. This is a real cantina feel. We like this restaurant and enjoy it every time we go. For more information, I found their website at http://www.fonda-m.com/engl_ver/index.htm. This may sound like I am associated with the restaurant but I am not in any way. I am from Arizona, have visted Mexico many times, and have now lived in Tokyo for 5 years.

TOKYO Tex/Mex: El Quixico, in Nishi-Ogikubo http://www.el-quixico1991.jp Tel. 03-3332-7590 TOKYO and OSAKA Tex/Mex: El Torito (chain) is pretty good, even if it is a chain. There seem to be some complaints about service lately. Sunshine City Ikebukuro, Shinjuku (south exit), Nishi Kasai, Minami Aoyama, Tsukuba, Yokohama, Kanazawa, Kobe and Moriguchi http://www.gyuan.jp/eltorito/ TOKYO: Stay away from Sol Amigo in Ikebukuro. Awful food and decidedly neither Mexican nor Tex/Mex.
