Baby Signing

Japan With Kids - Forums: General Discussions: Baby Signing
By Carin Smolinski on Sunday, September 4, 2005 - 12:06 am:

Baby signs is currently one of the hottest trends in child development where infants can communicate basic needs long before they can first speak. It has been so wonderful for my 20 month old son,(and our family) that I have become quite passionate about it! I will be teaching level 1 "Talking Hands" class at the Fun House on Thursdays from 1:15-2:00. If you would like to join us for a free trial class on September 22nd, please e-mail info@funhousetokyo.com 10 week course starts September 29th.

Is baby sign language popular in Japan, too? My two year old knows about 100 and some signs, so if daycare providers are familiar with them, that would be very helpful (she doesn't know any Japanese).

Do you know if this is so?
