This came in from a reader:
"For kids, I can only recommend an English school called Model Language Studio. They teach English through drama and they have several productions through a year.
website: http://www.mls-etd.co.jp/corp/ "

Has anyone checked this out?

Yokohama Theatre Group's upcoming classes.

All the info is on the site: http://yokohama-theatre.com/en/ytheatre-school/classes-en

The classes are open to people 16 years of age and up. We will consider taking students under 16, but in that case we'd like to interview them (and their parents) to ensure they'd be a good fit.

If you'd be so kind to pass this info along to anyone you think might be interested, that would be wonderful.

Oh, and just a reminder that the ensemble's first showcase is this coming weekend: http://yokohama-theatre.com/en/shows-en/upcoming-shows-en

This is actually for children to act in (or dance or sing) in Kobe. But it is in Japanese and sometimes English I think:

These are currently three English theater groups active in Tokyo/Yokohama. Black Stripe has put on some notable serious productions. My daughter was mesmerized by _Doubt_.
Tokyo International Players is the oldest and does multiple productions per year. Upcoming is _The Crucible_ (about witchcraft accusations in Salem, Massachusetts) March 1-4, 2012.
