Starting Saturday, October 11, The Tokyo Comedy Store will be offering improv comedy workshops for young people, ages 10-15 at our Yotsuya studio! Improv is a great opportunity for kids and teens to learn presentation
skills, creativity, confidence, story telling, and a wealth of other skills that are as useful off stage as they are on stage! And the classes are so much fun, no one will suspect just how much they're learning!
Classes are two hours long, with a break. There will be 8 classes, and the cost is 16,000 yen per student. At the end of the series, there will be a performance for parents and peers.
To enroll in the class, please contact Dave Gutteridge at
or call him at 090-9134-7136. You can email me for more information

Now classes for younger children.

Tokyo Comedy Store Presents:
Young Children's Improv Comedy Workshops

In January 2004, The Tokyo Comedy store will be offering its first series of improv comedy workshops for young children at our Yotsuya Studio.

About The Class:
These classes will be taught by Ann Doherty-Hardbattle; an experienced teacher whose main goal is to provide a safe and nurturing atmosphere where her students will learn the importance of trusting each other, working together, making friends and having fun! Through various basic improv games and techniques, your child will have the opportunity to:

. Create their own original stories through movement and dialogue.
. Feel comfortable in taking risks and expressing themselves in front of an audience.
. Relate and respond to their peers and to their environment.

About The Teacher: Ann Doherty-Hardbattle
. Is a New York State Certified teacher in Arts Education.
. Has taught at Japanese elementary, junior high, and high schools here in Japan for the past nine years.
. Has studied improv comedy with the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, NY.
. Has studied improv comedy with Rebecca Stockley of Bay Area Theatresports, CA.
. Has been involved with the Tokyo Comedy Store since spring of 2001.
