Second Hand Furniture - WAVE Shop

Japan With Kids - Forums: Second Hand/Recycle/Flea Markets: Second Hand Furniture - WAVE Shop

The visit from WAVE was a waste of time. They "pay" up front but honestly, for what they were offering it was like giving the items away. Maybe they were paying me 10% of what they were going to sell the items for. I suppose they have to cover the cost of giving free estimates. I initially offered to send photos but they said they have no email. I sent them away empty handed.

I will certainly let you know how it goes as someone from WAVE is coming today. We may just keep trying to sell privately. New families will be arriving soon in my area. It seems the biggest issue in buying privately is getting the larger items delivered for a reasonable fee. In my experience it can be as much as 5,000 to have a large item delivered even if it is local. Have you ever called this company for an estimate?
All the household goods on our web page are open to offers. One item that is also included (but no photo was uploaded yet) is a Euro sofa bed, opens to 160 cm wide.

Hi Nancy:
It's been my experience with 2 other recycle shops that the formula for getting paid isn't the same fair-wise as I experienced back home.

Of the top of my head, it was me that could set the selling price. Then once the item sold, it was something like 10% for me and 90% for them.

I could also opt to have the recycle shop purchase it right out. The offer was even less than 10%.

I was kind of insulted and ended up giving/throwing the things away rather than allow them to bilk me.

If you have a better experience then please post the details in here!

P.S. is the freezer going to be part of the package you're offering them? I'm still interested but would need to find a reasonably priced way to have it brought to my home.

Has anyone had any experience buying at WAVE or selling items to WAVE? They have 2 locations, Shinjuku and Setagaya. As I don't live near either of these locations, I really don't know what the stores are like. Does anyone know? Someone from the shop will be coming to my home to give us a free estimate on our items for sale. They are large items (such as sofa beds) so they will bring a truck to take the items long as we are okay with the prices. I just wondered what to expect.
