Tokyo Union Church Annual Flea Market TODAY AND TOMORROW
Presented by the TUC Women's Society. Mar 9, 10am-4pm; Mar 10 (bargain bag sale day), 10am-noon; Tokyo Union Church, Omotesando.

By Pato on Friday, September 30, 2011 - 4:38 pm:

TOKYO: The annual Fall Franciscan Chapel Center (FCC) Bazaar was discontinued about 3 years ago (2008) because they did not get enough volunteers to sign up to run it. (I'm posting this because someone was asking me about it.)
They have a new web site now.

TOKYO: The rumor is that the Franciscan Chapel Center is having it's annual Bazaar this coming weekend. October 20 and 21? The web site seems to only go up through end of September.

Reminder for next Sunday:

TOKYO: The St. Ignatius Bazaar 2008 is on Sunday, June 8, from 10.:00.
I think it goes on till around 14:00, but everything goes pretty quickly. so getting there early is a good idea. There are bins for donations and you can mail donations as of now I think.

Nishimachi International School is holding a charity bazaar on May 26th, this coming Saturday, from 11 to 3 pm. B-B-Q, lots of bargains, and musical entertainment; proceeds to support a school in Cambodia. Eight minutes from Azabu Juban station and ten minutes from Hiroo station (though Arisugawa Park). Use the Moto Azabu Hills building (the one that looks like it was built upside down) as a landmark; the school is two minutes from there.

TOKYO: Fall 2005 Franciscan Chapel Center (FCC) Bazaar is October 15 and 16 this year. http://www2.gol.com/users/fcchapel/
Nearest subway stations are Roppongi and Tameiko Sanno (sp?).

By Admin on Saturday, May 7, 2005 - 8:01 am:

From Karyn posted in "Wanted" section of Classified:
The American Embassy Housing Compound will be holding it's annual sidewalk sale on Saturday May 14th from 9:00-15:00.

(this can be reached from Roppongi station. Next closest stations would be Tameiko Sanno station or Chiyoda line's Akasaka station).

By Cornelia on Saturday, March 12, 2005 - 2:48 pm:

Sorry that the website for TUC wasn't much use. The sale ended at noon today. The TUC Women's Society has their own page now at http://www2.gol.com/users/tuc/ws/tucws.html and they do the annual rummage sale.

TUC: Closest subway exit #A1 Omotesando station. Walkable from JR Harajuku station.

This has been an annual event, every March!

By Cornelia on Friday, March 11, 2005 - 2:13 pm:

Just a reminder, today and tomorrow is the Tokyo Union Church rummage sale (today until 16:00). Website: http://www2.gol.com/users/tuc/

Tokyo Union Church Women's Society flea market - I was just sent this info:

The flea market will be held Friday March 11 from 10 - 4 and Saturday March 12.

Donations (of clothes, toys, books etc) are being accepted between 9 am and 2 pm Monday March 7 - Thursday March 10.

They still need volunteers to help sort stuff during that week, and volunteers who help out for two or more hours also get to shop early.

Tokyo Union Church is on Omotesando , a short walk from Omotesando or Meiji-jingumae subway stations (left-hand side if you are coming from the Omotesando crossing, right hand side if you are coming from the Meiji-jingumae/Harajuku direction). Address: 5-7-7 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo.

The flea market is an annual event and always has loads of children's clothes, books and toys, as well as adult clothing, household items, etc. Proceeds go to charity.

By Mono on Monday, October 18, 2004 - 3:57 pm:

Hi, I have more flea market related information in Tsukuba to post.

Oct. 23
Annual Fall Bazaar at Tsukuba Gakuen Church
11:00 to 14:00
http://www.tsukubagakuenchurch.jp/,http://www.tsukubagakuenchurch.jp/

Oct.23-24
The 23rd Annual Festival and Bazaar at AFFRIC in Tsukuba
(AFFRIC: Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Research Information Center)
http://www.cc.affrc.go.jp/ric/,http://www.cc.affrc.go.jp/ric/
I could not find festival information on their website, but here's what someone wrote on our local message board in Japanese.
9:00 to 16:00
There will be concerts, various booths, puppet play, and so on.
The puppet play is from 12:30 on Sunday. It's free, but the seating capacity is 300.

Tokyo Kasei Gakuen-Tsukuba Women's University Festival and flea markets
http://www.kasei.ac.jp/,http://www.kasei.ac.jp/
Flea markers are in the cafeteria. There'll be a talkshow by a popular TV personality, Chiaki on Saturday, and a dodgeball tournament on Sunday. There are other events like a lecture by a famous writer, Mariko Hayashi, paper car race, and a performance by a local elementary school's marching band.

Oct.30-31
Tsukuba Recycle Festival and Flea Market at Former Container Warehouse
Oct. 30-31, 10:00-15:00
Location: Tsukuba-shi Kokuki 395 (near Kukizaki Junior Highschool)
They don't have a website. Just copy and paste the address above in your map search.
Phone #: 029-847-4060

They'll sell furniture and other items at VERY low prices. They'll also collect clean, washed used clothes to be shipped to foreign countries. You'll be asked to donate Y300 per 10kg to cover the cost of shipping donations overseas. [*There's another organization like this in Tsukuba that ships household items and clothes to the developing countries, and use the money raised from the sales to help the needy foreign residents/families in the area.]

There will be a toy hospital during the festival, so bring your kids' broken toys!

By Mono on Monday, October 18, 2004 - 03:28 pm:
I apologize for my frequent appearances, but I've found more information on Tsukuba Recycle Festival in another local message board, so here it is.

2nd Annual Tsukuba Recycle Festival on Oct.30 and 31, rain or shine.
Flea markets are from 10AM to 2PM
If you'd like to be in a flea market, apply by Oct.23, Saturday. Also, register by 23rd to have your kids' toys fixed.

Enter to win used furniture for free! Please find out the details at the festival.

There'll be a magic show, taiko (Japanese drum) performances, wooden-toy making workshop, Asian mountain tribes' traditional crafts booth, and Japanese food booths.

The only problem is that this place is anywhere near the public transportation systems, unless you are lucky enough to catch a city's free bus. The free bus goes and comes back from that area to the central part of Tsukuba only a few times a day. There might be a commercial bus going to that area from Tsukuba Center bus terminal, but it might cost A LOT.

(If you are looking for the used furniture, this is THE place to go. You can buy pretty much everything for under 2000 yen (each)! The place is run by a group of elderly volunteers, and you will need a few days for the purchased items to be delivered.

2. Every Sunday at gRest Househ in front of the Tsukuba Expo Center which is only a few minutes away from the Tsukuba Gakuen Church mentioned above. A big sale is held on the 4th Sunday of every month.
