Please share your good and bad experiences with travel agencies!
We have been using H.I.S. Number 1 Travel in Shinjuku for years. Sometimes our itinerary has had problems (like the connecting flights being on different days) but it usually goes okay. We have been giving them special requests like routing us through PDX instead of LAX and they have always tried to accommodate us.
For round trip tickets from the USA to Japan, we've been using Yoshi McGuire at Pacific Express Travel in Oxnard, CA (800-350-7753 or 805-981-1264). We have been very happy with the results.

For round trip tickets from the USA to Japan try JTB in NYC (212-698-4900)--they usually have information on good deals. A friend is visiting us in August (poor thing) and got round trip tickets from NYC for $725. Check the JTB website (www.jtb.com) to see what current specials are available.

I used this web site to get tickets when everyone else said there were no seats available anymore.

Online ticket purchase. I recently purchased tickets online thru ABS travel based in Miami. Their website engine helps you check fares and routes, giving you alternatives routes and fares. There is a 30US$ handling fee per ticket and getting the tickets sent out to you, if they are not available electronically, costs 35US$. Worth checking, I think.

Has anyone used http://www.flightfinderjapan.com/home.html as a way to buy their tickets? If you have, would you mind giving us a "report"?
