We're thinking about renting a car for the next weekend. Is there such a thing in Tokyo?
By Scott Hancock on Friday, April 25, 2003 - 5:59 pm:
Sure. Here are the phone numbers:
Toyota Rent-a-car 03-3264-0100
Nissan Rent-a-car 0120-00-4123(Toll Free)
Nippon Rent-a-car 03-3469-0919
Japaren 0120-39-1223(Toll Free)
Mitsubishi Rent-a-car 0120-111-300(Toll Free)
Mazda Rent-a-car 0120-00-5656(Toll Free)
Orix Rent-a-car 0120-000-543(Toll Free)
Nippon and Toyota are the biggest ones with most branches.I "think" Nippon might have English speakers..
Be prepared for higher cost than in the U.S.
Be aware that if you have an accident:
1. You MUST get a police report no matter how minor - even if you scratch the car by yourself in the parking lot! (my experience)
2. If the car is out of service, you have to pay something like 20,000 or so EVEN IF you have taken insurance.
Have a nice adventure.
