By Scott Hancock on Saturday, June 29, 2002 - 1:12 am: You would have to have a very very compelling reason to do this. The paperwork and procedures would be complicated and costly. There are also stringent emission regs. If you're a car nut and have to have your 1936 Bentley, you can hire someone to take care of it. I can't think of any reason to bring a normal car. Used cars in Japan are a good deal, usually. FWIW
By Nancy on Monday, July 1, 2002 - 12:39 am: Heather, if you are going to ship a car from the US, you must remember that in Japan the steering wheel is on the right side of the car. I personally would find it hard to drive a let side drive car in Japan (although people do) As Scott said, there are used cars available and you can get a good deal on a new one if you look hard.
