By kela on Monday, March 22, 2004 - 9:27 pm: Does anyone know a shop in tokyo that sell a good range of maternity clothes?
By Sraboni Dutta on Monday, March 22, 2004 - 11:01 pm: Hello, You can try Akachan Honpo, in Gotanda. They have got quite a good collection and not very expensive also. Sraboni
By Yuko Kubota on Monday, March 22, 2004 - 11:28 pm:It's been a long time since I got pregnant, but it was a good time for me to get in touch with mail order catalogs. They had a variety of them at the hospitals, and to this day I regularly order Senshukai Belle Maison and Nissen products. The Belle Maison products have good quality and design, http://www.bellne.com/shp/srvlt/PBelHome?storeId=10001&langId=-10&catalogId=10001 while Nissen is very cheap. http://www.nissen.co.jp/index.htm Mail orders are handy when you can't go out shopping so much with your large tummy or the baby. Of course, I'm sure there are more offers now that we have the internet. The thing is that I didn't have trouble ordering since I'm a native Japanese speaker, but because they are systematic, I'm sure you'll get a hold of it once you get started. For newborn items, as Sraboni mentioned, I definately recommend Akachan Honpo though. http://www.akachan.jp/top.cfm
By Bridget Kihara on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 - 10:12 am:I bought a couple of pairs of pants from Angeliebe. They have a store in Shibuya and Tama Plaza and maybe Harajuku as well. They have a large selection of clothes - not just the typical one piece dresses. Their prices are higher than Akachanhonpo but the clothes are more stylish and a better quality I thought. From memory a pair of jeans cost about 6000yen. They have a website: http://www.angeliebe.co.jp/antenna.html I also found this on the internet. It's a French label. I haven't anything from them though so not sure about prices or quality. http://www.formes-japon.com/
By Bridget Kihara on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 - 10:14 am: Forgot to mention that Angeliebe also has pants in "Tall" sizes - not all that tall but taller than regular Japanese pants.

By moeko kurihara felt on Thursday, December 9, 2004 - 3:02 am: rubyvan.com is the BEST!! I wore their Maternity T-shirts throughout my entire pregnancy. They were the most comfortable and best of all, I still looked pretty hip (swollen belly and all!). Not the average frumpy maternity wear! check it out: www.rubyvan.com
By Tattooed_mom on Monday, March 31, 2008 - 4:47 pm:For sale-Maternity Jeans One pair of maternity Jeans for sale. Just delivered to me this week from BellaBlu Maternity and are too large for me. Under the belly, skinny leg, charcoal black jeans. Here is the link to view the picture: http://www.bellablumaternity.com/blprreje.html. They are size Small and will fit American sizes 4-6. They stretch to accomodate later pregnancy. Paid $109 American Dollars and that is not counting the shipping from the U.S. I am selling them for 10,000 yen plus 1,000 yen for the shipping that was paid. So, they are 11,000 yen and I will meet whoever is willing to buy them, but they farthest I can go is Harajyuku. I waited 6 weeks for these jeans and 2 other pairs I ordered and would hate to have to send them back to the U.S. when I am sure there is another expecting mom who would love them in Tokyo. I have 2 other pairs from them and they are VERY comfortable. This is a great company to buy maternity clothes from. My email is mjcfarias@yahoo.com Thank you for your interest, Melissa Takizawa
