*1 Enrollment of Children Under 1 Year of Age: 1) Children who are 6 weeks of age or older. 2) Children who are 8 weeks of age or older. 3) Children who are 4 months of age or older. *2 Nursery Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. However, municipal nursery schools will set the hours for children 8 months old and older, according to the situation of individual parents, taking work hours, commuting time and other factors into consideration. “Long-Stay 7” – Nurseries that offer extended child care until 7:15 p.m. “Long-Stay 8” – Nurseries that offer extended child care until 8:00 p.m. “Long-Stay 10” – Nurseries that offer extended child care until 10:00 p.m. “Night” – Nurseries that offer child care during night hours (until 10:15 p.m.) Those without any notation are open until 18:15 Nursery Facilities Accredited by TMG In addition to the above, there are four private nursery facilities, accredited by Tokyo Metropolitan Government. TMG and Toshima City subsidize a part of their operational costs. Pre-school children up to five years of age are accepted. The fee for care is set by the individual facility.
